9 Former Denver Nuggets that the team can re-sign this summer

The Nuggets need to retool this offseason but have limited means to improve. Perhaps it's time to look at some familiar old faces and see if some reunions make sense.

9.) Malik Beasley

Beasley began his career with the Nuggets and has become a veteran journeyman, spending this past season in Milwaukee with the Bucks. If there is one thing Beasley can do it’s shoot and he can be one of the best spot-up sharpshooters in the league. Beasley would thrive in the current Nuggets ecosystem.

He can be a decent wing defender on the perimeter and has solid size and athleticism, but it’s the shooting that would make this fit so perfect. The Nuggets are in desperate need of three-point shooting and Beasley would offer that in spades.

At this point in his career, it’s unlikely that Beasley will be the recipient of a big contract so it’s not crazy to think he could prioritize an ideal playing situation; Denver would fit that bill. He could be a bargain replacement for KCP with better shooting but worse defense.

Still, he could hold up very solidly and could likely slot into the starting lineup or come off the bench pretty seamlessly. He’s far from a perfect player, but he’s a reliable veteran that Michael Malone could trust and one who can knock down open shots consistently. He could jumpstart the Nuggets' offense when one of Jokic or Murray sits and should get as many open looks as he can handle while playing with both of them.
