9 Former Denver Nuggets that the team can re-sign this summer

The Nuggets need to retool this offseason but have limited means to improve. Perhaps it's time to look at some familiar old faces and see if some reunions make sense.

6.) Danilo Gallinari

Gallo was a fan favorite during a fun era for the Nuggets and fans would surely welcome him back with open arms, but his tank may be on empty. He’s getting long in the tooth and he’s battled injuries for the latter part of his career.

It’s been a few years since Gallo was able to stay in front of anyone on defense and his game is almost entirely based on shooting at this point, but he can still be deadly. He’s probably not someone who can realistically be relied on for playoff minutes, but even at his age, a floor-stretching big man would be a sight for sore eyes in Denver.

If he can get healthy, he could thrive in a limited role and it would be great to see him back in a Nuggets uniform. The cost certainly won’t be prohibitive and with the Nuggets' needs for frontcourt depth and shooting, he seems like a great candidate for one of the last spots on the roster.

This likely wouldn’t be a move that would push the Nuggets over the top, but it’s worth the risk, and if nothing else he’d be a great veteran leader and presence in the locker room. It would also be great, as a fan, to see Gallo end his career in Denver, a place where he experienced some of his best NBA success.
