9 Former Denver Nuggets that the team can re-sign this summer

The Nuggets need to retool this offseason but have limited means to improve. Perhaps it's time to look at some familiar old faces and see if some reunions make sense.

2.) Monte Morris

Morris got to enjoy a bit of revenge this season as he was picked up by the Timberwolves and played a (small) part in eliminating the Nuggets from the playoffs this season. Morris doesn’t have much left in the tank, but he’s a solid veteran point guard.

At the very least, Morris would be a solid replacement for Reggie Jackson if he leaves in free agency. Morris can hold his own defensively, is a steady ball handler who can run an offense, and he can knock down an open shot.

He’s not a difference-maker, but the Nuggets simply need guys they can trust coming off the bench and Morris would fit the bill. Secondary ballhandling is always good to have and if KCP and/or Jackson leave, the Nuggets will be in desperate need of anyone to run offense outside of Murray and Jokic.

Morris should be a cheap option who can be trotted out there for a few minutes at a time, especially during the regular season. He’s not the missing piece to vault this team back to title favorites, but he can play a useful role and the cost to acquire shouldn’t be prohibitive at all.
