The Denver Nuggets are on the road on Wednesday to take on a surging Utah Jazz team, but the Nuggets are still favored.

While the team has struggled covering the spread as a road favorite this season, there a couple spots in the prop market where I think bettors can take advantage.

Denver Nuggets 1Q moneyline vs. Utah Jazz

Earlier today, I broke down why Denver is an elite pick in the first quarter on BetSided in my NBA Best Bets Today column

"The Denver Nuggets are the No. 2 team in the NBA in first quarter net rating, and now they get to take on a Utah Jazz team that ranks 23rd in that statistic, posting a -6.3 first quarter net rating in the 2023-24 campaign.

"Utah is better at home in the first quarter (+4.1 net rating), but Denver is still +8.5 points per 100 possessions on the road in the first quarter.

"I’ve been trying to pick my spots on this prop for the Nuggets so we don't have to lay points to get decent odds, so I’ll gladly take Denver here – who is winning the first quarter 68.4 percent of the time this season."

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope OVER 1.5 3-pointers made

BetSided’s Gage Bridgford made a great case for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who has shot the ball at a high rate from 3-point range this season.

KCP has cleared this prop in four of his last seven games. Here’s a bit of Bridgford’s breakdown from BetSided.

"On the year, KCP has hit this in 19 of his 32 games, including four out of his last seven. Over the last two seasons with Denver, he’s hit this line in three out of his four games, including one game with six last year.

"The Jazz give up the third-most 3-pointers to opposing shooting guards, and they allow the fourth-most 3-pointers overall to their opponents."

It makes sense to take KCP against a Utah team that struggles to defend the 3-point shot.
