1. Aaron Gordon trade

The Nuggets reached the conference finals inside the bubble in 2020, but they needed more help. Nikola Jokic was arguably the best player in the NBA, but they had to upgrade at the four. Someone capable of defending multiple positions and offering some versatility.

Connelly and Booth decided to trade Gary Harris, R.J. Hampton, and a 2025 first-round draft pick to the Magic for Gordon and Gary Clark. Denver immediately got more size and athletic ability. Little did they know that AG would blossom into the perfect frontcourt partner for Nikola Jokic.

Gordon may not blow fans away with his numbers. He is a below-average 3-point shooter but can guard multiple positions, make plays, create easy buckets, and stand out on both ends of the floor. The Nuggets 2023 title would not be in the trophy case without Gordon, and he will remain a key piece for the organization for years to come.

The Denver Nuggets have pulled all the right strings since Calvin Booth has taken over as general manager. Patience has been key. They avoided blowing up their roster and lived through multiple playoff setbacks before winning it all. Credit goes to Booth for keeping the team together and figuring out what pieces they needed to accomplish their goal.
