Underperforming: Aaron Gordon

Gordon remains a key cog for the Nuggets. The 6’8 forward can guard multiple positions, make plays, and rebound. His stats dipped a bit in the playoffs, but he was defending at a high level and making open looks. The Nuggets need Gordon for his versatility.

His scoring and shooting numbers are down to begin this season. The 28-year-old is averaging just 14.0 points his second-lowest total since 2017 and making just 30.3 percent from 3-point range, which is his worst since his third NBA season. Gordon is Denver’s fourth offensive option, and his play should improve in the second half.

The Nuggets should be gearing up for the playoffs. Every member of their starting five is in their prime, and Denver is among the favorites to win the championship. They must get Gordon making shots and defending at a high level in the postseason. The Nuggets do not care where they are seeded. It is all about winning when the games matter most.

Fans should not worry. Aaron Gordon has been fine to begin the season. His assists are up from last year and he is still rebounding. Gordon will likely get a few more shots in the second half, and he must convert them.
