When is the epic game 7 of the Nuggets and Timberwolves series?
By Ben Handler
By winning Game 6 in Minnesota, the Timberwolves have set up an epic do-or-die showdown in the Western Conference Semifinals. With the series now tied 3-3 we get to say the two best words in sports: Game 7.
Oddly enough, as competitive as this series has been, the average margin of victory has been 21 points and only one game has been decided by fewer than 15 points. Yet, overall the series has been extremely captivating even, with crazy back-and-forth swings.
It has been a roller coaster ride for fans as the Wolves jumped out to a decisive 2-0 lead after winning games 1 and 2 in Denver. Then the Nuggets, written off as dead, bounced back to win three straight games, retaking the series lead. But Thursday night, the Wolves reestablished their own dominance with a massive 115-70 win with their season hanging in the balance.
So when is game 7?
Game 7 will take place on Sunday, May 19th at Ball Arena in Denver. The Nuggets will host this decisive game, which will be their first time facing elimination since 2022. As of now, the time of the game is still to be determined as we wait for the result of the Knicks Pacers game 6.
The Knicks lead that Eastern Conference Semifinal series 3-2 with Game 6 occurring Friday night in Indiana. If the Knicks close out the series on Friday, then the Nuggets and Wolves will play Game 7 on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 EST (1:30 MST) on ABC.
But if the Pacers win on Friday night and extend that series to a Game 7 then that will be the Sunday afternoon game and the Nuggets and Wolves will play Game 7 on Sunday night at 8 PM EST (6 MST) on TNT.
The winner of Game 7 between the Nuggets and Timberwolves will move on to the Western Conference Finals where they will take on the Mavericks or Thunder. The Mavs currently lead that series 3-2 with Game 6 taking place in Dallas on Saturday night.
