How and when to watch the Denver Nuggets' final game of Summer League
By Ben Handler
So far, the NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for the Nuggets and their fans. Things started off with the lowest of lows as promising first-round draft pick DaRon Holmes tore his achilles in game one. The rookie big-man from Dayton is lost for the season as he recovers, which put a major damper on the Summer League as a whole.
But on a positive note, the team has seen exactly what they wanted from second-year guard Julian Strawther, who has impressed with his scoring and shooting. The team also may have hit the jackpot with undrafted two-way signing Trey Alexander. Alexander has looked like one of the best players on the floor and may have done enough to earn a spot in the Nuggets’ rotation.
Nuggets have gotten some disappointing play from summer league vets
On the other hand, the Nuggets have also gotten disappointing efforts from guys like Jalen Pickett and Hunter Tyson. Denver was hoping that these second-year players would show out and possibly crack the rotation this season, but if anything, it looks like they may not even be NBA-caliber players at all.
The records and results in these games don’t really matter, but for what it’s worth the Nuggets are 0-3 in the Summer League. That means the team is all but eliminated and they’ll play their final scheduled game and wrap things up for the summer.
Nuggets' final game Thursday at 2:30 MDT on ESPN2
The last game will be on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 PM MDT against the Pacers. It’ll be the first game of the day in Vegas and the final game of the summer for both teams. The game can be seen on ESPN2 or streamed on ESPN+.
The Nuggets have already shut down Julian Strawther for the summer after he balled out in his first two games, but there are a lot of players who still have something to prove and will be fighting for a spot on the roster this season. This game will be the final audition for many of these young players and their final chance to leave their mark this summer before an extended break until training camp.
