The Nuggets and Celtics got the NBA preseason underway on Friday with their game in Abu Dhabi. The two teams have remained in the United Arab Emirates capital. They will play the second leg of their preseason series on Sunday before heading back to the United States to finish their respective preseason campaigns.

Both teams showed some positive signs, but the Celtics ultimately won the first game, 107-103. But these games are about much more than the final result. Neither team had their starters on the court by the end of the game; we’re going to once again see limited minutes, extended rotations, and bench players getting a real chance.

When to watch Nuggets vs. Celtics

The second part of the NBA’s Abu Dhabi Games will take place on Sunday, bright and early, at 8 AM MT. Wake up bright and early, get your breakfast and coffee and settle in to watch the Nuggets take on the Celtics for the second time.

Once again, the game will be televised locally on cable, but it will also be shown nationally on NBATV and can be streamed anywhere on the NBA App. The game is also available to all out-of-market fans on NBA League Pass.

What to watch for in Nuggets vs. Celtics

Nuggets fans saw some solid stuff in game one, but in game two it would be nice to see more out of Jamal Murray. He played 15 relatively quiet minutes on Friday. Let’s see him get involved and get his offense going early.

We didn’t see many of the young players stepping up on offense either. It would be nice to see some more aggression and more shots for Christian Braun and Julian Strawther. On a similar note, I don’t want to see Russell Westbrook leading the team in 3-point attempts again.

Russ put up six 3s in just 18 minutes the other morning. That’s not a recipe for success for this Nuggets team. The team needs to accentuate Westbrook’s strengths and mask his weaknesses; letting him jack up 3s all game is basically a doomsday scenario.
