The madness is officially upon us as the NCAA Tournament begins Thursday just after noon Eastern Time on CBS. 64 teams are ready to do battle as there will be games from morning to night Thursday through Sunday until the field is whittled to 16.

We’ve seen it all in recent years, from 16 seeds toppling 1 seeds to mid-majors making the final four. We’ve also got some local flavor with both Colorado and Colorado State earning spots in the dance this season.

This is the most volatile and polarizing sports tournament on Earth and it’s truly a joy to watch. I may run for president one day and my main running point will be making the first Thursday and Friday national holidays. That bit of policy alone should earn me a seat in the Oval Office pretty easily.

But I digress. This year, the field is wide open. UConn comes in as the defending champs and the favorites. They are primed to be repeat champions, something we haven’t seen since the Florida Gators almost 20 years ago.

If you haven’t filled out a bracket then do you even have a pulse? Not sure what you're doing with your life, but hopefully you see this article before it’s too late and you're reminded to fill one out and join a pool.

Here are my picks to make the Final Four from each region.
