Over the course of a long NBA season, with a lot of media availability and press conferences along the way, things can get a bit tedious. It must get difficult for players and coaches to come up with new ways to answer questions. And at the same time, it’s hard for media members to come up with engaging new questions to ask the same players day after day.

One player who appears almost comically disinterested and unenthused about speaking to the media is the current MVP favorite, Nikola Jokic. Mostly in jest, as an ongoing bit, Jokic likes to play the victim with the media as if he’s put off by the obligation.

It often acts as dry humor and is endearing to many fans, but he seemed genuinely caught off guard and annoyed the other day when Jokic was answering questions and was asked a question about his favorite dinosaur.

Jokic was informed that this was a hot topic after a video emerged on the internet showing Nikola and his family taking in a dinosaur exhibit. Jokic was upset and almost defensive, asking the reporter how he knew about that.

Luckily Jokic was able to laugh it off and do his best to answer the question in a funny, lighthearted, and quote-worthy way. He stated,

"“I don’t even know, like it’s really hard to pronounce it so, I don’t know, the one with the big…like the, the one that eats grass. The big huge one.”"

The Joker was almost certainly referring to the Brontosaurus, an apt choice for the big lumbering Serbian center. How serious Jokic was being is hard to tell, as he did seem upset by the question and seeming invasion of his privacy.

But he was also able to playfully answer the question. It’s clear that Jokic is not a fan of the limelight, or being in the public eye - especially off the court. Fair or not, these are the things that come along with being the best, and one of the most famous basketball players on the planet.

Hopefully, Big Honey takes this one in stride and has a good chuckle about it. And hey, at least we found out he’s a fan of the Brontosaurus.
