The Nuggets and Spurs met on Tuesday night, and the game was highlighted by the superstar matchup of Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama. Both foreign big men put on a show, with incredible performances.

Wemby and the Spurs fell short, as the Spurs, missing several starters, were just completely overmatched by the talent of Denver. But Wemby more than held his own, including several dunks and blocks while matched up with the Joker.

Jokic vs Wembanyama

The matchup of centers lived up to the hype and then some, and it seems clear that these two are on track to be rivals playing epic games for many years to come. Jokic was certainly impressive himself, putting up 42 points, 16 rebounds, and 6 assists while pulling out the much-needed victory for the Nuggets.

But the play of the night was another can’t-miss pass from the Joker, one that he can add to his long list of incredible passing highlights. He was inbounding the ball after a basket in the second half, and immediately cocked the ball back with one hand and threw it like a football from the baseline all the way to the opposite corner, hitting Justin Holiday in the bread basket for a wide open three pointer.

Thankful, Holiday obliged us and buried the three so that we can all truly enjoy this incredible pass and highlight. Jokic looked like a football player, launching the ball roughly one hundred feet on a dime. He put plenty of zip on it, with the ball barely arcing at all before reaching it’s final destination, as if placed almost perfectly.

Don't take the Joker for granted

Amazing passes are certainly nothing new for the Joker, but this one was unique and beautiful in its own way. For one, there was a sneaky element to it all. Jokic got the ball so quickly and immediately rifled it from one side of the court to the other before most defenders had even turned around.

The pass also could not have been placed more perfectly, essentially hitting Holiday in stride as he stepped into his wide open corner three. Add this one to the highlight reel and remember not to take Nikola Jokic for granted.
