There isn’t a lot of news around the NBA or involving the Nuggets at the moment and while many are nervously anticipating an update on Jamal Murray’s contract situation, things remain quiet. There has been plenty of trade speculation and prognosticating but nothing substantial on that front either.

But as we anticipate the beginning of training camp, it can be tough to avoid the rampant rumor mill and speculation. So let’s focus on a few minor bits of news around Nuggets world that have been taking place.

Jokic gifts Serbian Olympic teammates with Rolex watches

Nikola Jokic and Team Serbia had an amazing run in the 2024 Paris Olympics, winning the bronze medal over the FIBA World Champs, in Germany. They also put up an amazing battle in the semifinals against a stacked Team USA, coming up just short of the incredible upset in the final minutes.

Jokic had a great tournament and with his help, several of his teammates broke out. It seems that the Joker wanted to thank and reward his friends and teammates and he has gifted each of them a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watch.

It’s a nice gesture by Jokic and not an inexpensive one as the watches in total are valued at around $360,000.

Facundo Campazzo offers up some alarming and comical revelations

Former Nugget, Facundo Campazzo had a brief stint in the NBA but struggled with athleticism, size, and defense. Facu has been out of the NBA since 2022 after just two years, but he recently opened up to Clank Media, explaining that he was constantly targeted by celebrity fans, rappers, and even players in the game who would urge players to attack him.

Current NBA players think Jokic was snubbed with NBA 2K rating

On a recent episode of the Old Man and the 3 Podcast, current NBA players Trey Murphy and Jaren Jackson Jr. were discussing recent ratings in the popular NBA 2K video game. The players and host had a fun moment talking about Nikola Jokic and even saying that he has the right to be angry at only receiving a 97 rating despite his three MVP Awards in four years.

The players had a bit of fun joking around about it while marveling at Jokic’s dominance before ultimately agreeing he probably does not care one bit about the rating.
