Many Nuggets fans anxiously await news of a Russell Westbrook signing in Denver. But there hasn’t been much movement on that front since the Jazz waived Westbrook. He’s cleared waivers and has become a free agent, but there is still nothing.

In the meantime, the Nuggets have made another move official, signing a different veteran former All-Star, DeAndre Jordan. The team brought DAJ back in the fold for a deep bench role where he’ll act as more of a veteran leader than an actual bench player.

But there’s no doubt that Jordan is an excellent leader and locker-room presence and seems to be great for the vibes around the team. Jordan was recently interviewed by DraftKings Sportsbook and they ran through a list of current NBA stars, asking him to predict how many titles each one would win.

DeAndre Jordan believes Nikola Jokic will win 3 championships

Jordan showed why he’s beloved amongst his current Nuggets teammates by elevating his teammate, Nikola Jokic over all other NBA stars. DAJ proclaimed that Jokic would end his career with three titles while giving Jayson Tatum two, Victor Wembanyama two, and one each for Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Anthony Edwards.

The questions and names were coming at Jordan in rapid succession, but he showed his veteran leadership, not even hesitating and making sure to put his teammate, Jokic on a pedestal.

Jordan also did a good job of not providing much bulletin board material for rival teams and players as he didn’t predict that any players would finish with zero titles. This is the mark of a man who has experience talking into a microphone, and a man who knows exactly why the Nuggets brought him back.

I’m sure, Jordan also realizes that if Jokic wins two more titles, they’d likely be in the next few years, and that could mean another ring for Jordan to add to his own collection. Jordan’s career as a player is mostly over, but he’d love to be along for the ride for more title runs, and collecting some more jewelry for his trophy case would be great for his resume when it’s all said and done.

Regardless of that, it’s good to see Jordan is a company man, he has his priorities in place, and he knows where his bread is buttered.
