For the second and final time this season, the Denver Nuggets take on the Miami Heat in a rematch of the 2023 NBA Finals.

Both teams would love to run it back in the 2023-24 campaign, but there is still a long way to go in the season before we can even think about that happening.

Denver comes into this game on a seven-game regular season win streak against the Heat, but can it keep it going on Wednesday night?

Miami has dropped three games in a row, falling to the No. 8 seed in the East in the process. With Denver competing for a top spot in the West, can the team cover as a road favorite?

Let’s break down the odds and my best bet in this game:

Nuggets vs. Heat key players to watch

Denver Nuggets

Nikola Jokic: The two-time MVP did not play his best game against Miami, shooting just 6-for-15 in the win earlier this season, but he’s been on fire since. In his last five games, Jokic is averaging 30.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 8.6 assists per game while shooting 59.8 percent from the field. WOW.

Miami Heat

Jimmy Butler: Butler missed Tuesday’s practice with an illness, but he’s still expected to play in this game. The star is shooting a career-high 42.5 percent from 3 this season, but he was held in check in the first meeting with Denver. Butler finished that game with 21 points (7-for-17 shooting), seven rebounds, three assists and one steal.

Nuggets vs. Heat prediction and pick

Miami is still down Tyler Herro, which severely limits the team’s offensive ceiling against a tough Denver team.

While the Nuggets are just 13-18-1 against the spread on the road this season, I have a hard time backing the Heat, who come into this game just 1-6 against the spread as home dogs.

Jokic did not play well in the last meeting with the Heat, yet the team was still able to come away with a win in a defensive-minded game.

Miami is going to try to slow things down and play a low-scoring matchup, but the Nuggets have been hot as of late, winning nine of their last 10 games to pull within half a game of the No. 1 seed in the West.

Denver looks to be peaking at the right time while Miami is coming off a loss as an 11-point favorite at home against Washington. I can’t trust the Heat in this spot.

Pick: Nuggets -3.5 (-110)
