Sunday night saw the Denver Nuggets take care of business against the spiraling San Antonio Spurs. Star center Nikola Jokic led Denver to a 132-120 victory over the Spurs with 39 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists.

The matchup marked the first time that rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama squared off against Jokic. Wemby put together an impressive statline of his own, tallying 22 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to get his side the win.

After the final buzzer, the Frenchman was asked about what it was like to play against Denver's two-time NBA MVP.

His response was pretty lackluster, as he was more focussed on his own team's success.

"I think I learned a lot, I'll learn even more when I watch some film," Wembanyama said of playing against Jokic. "I think it's a good experience, but it'd be even better if we had won."

Denver Nuggets may see Jamal Murray return from injury this week

Denver's win over San Antonio marked their fifth in their last 10 games. That pace isn't exactly what you'd expect from the defending champs, but it's understandable considering that they've been without Jamal Murray for that recent stretch.

Fortunately for the Nuggs, Murray could be making his return to the lineup very soon.

In fact, The Athletic's Shams Charania hinted that the Canadian could find his way onto the floor some time this week.

"I've been told that Jamal Murray will not return tonight against the Clippers," Charania revealed on FanDuel TV. "But, after tonight, it's going to be a day-by-day process in the coming days. He could return this week. He could return as soon as Wednesday at home against the (Houston) Rockets, or on the road Friday against the (Phoenix) Suns. They're going to just see how he feels literally day by day."
