Player #1: Klay Thompson, Mavericks

This has to be the most ridiculous name on the list as Thompson is sadly a shell of the player he once was. He’s going to have some big games throughout the season and some eye-popping stat lines, but the consistency is long gone.

Thompson is nothing more than a floor spacer at this point in his career. He’s giving you nothing beyond shooting, and even that has dipped in recent seasons. His speed and agility have fallen off a cliff and he’s no longer a plus defender.

He is an NBA legend and it has been amazing to watch him work his way back from injury the past few seasons. But his game is fading fast and it’s unclear if having him on the court is still a net positive for a team.

Klay should still be able to run around and get off shots playing with the likes of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, but it’s crazy to suggest he’ll be contributing anything close for the Mavericks to what MPJ is giving the Nuggets.

MPJ is a solid defender, a good rebounder, and somebody who can make something happen with the ball in his hands. His place in these rankings was disrespectful and he is going to prove a lot of people wrong this season.
