Unexpected Nuggets-Bucks blockbuster trade idea would put stars on the move

Giannis would require a huge haul for the Bucks. Maybe too much.

The trade machine is kicking into high gear, and a wild blockbuster trade idea has been proposed between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Denver Nuggets, and it's a doozy. A massive trade that would send coveted stars from both franchises away, and reshape both teams completely, especially the Nuggets.

The trade idea comes courtesy of Andy Bailey and "Bleacher Report," and it's got a lot of moving parts, and stars.

Nuggets get: Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Kyle Kuzma.

Bucks get: Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, a 2026 first-round pick, a 2031 first-round pick swap, and a 2026 second-round pick (via Atlanta).

It is a wild proposal, and it clears the Nuggets of basically all of their trade pieces and core to make a run with two all-time greats paired up. But it's a hefty price to pay for Giannis, because the Nuggets would still have to fill the roster out.

Giannis comes with his own issues

The only reason the Nuggets are even considering trading Gordon is his injury history. And this trade idea would bring in an all-time great with its own history. Giannis hasn't played in more than 73 games since 2019-20, and he played just 36 this season, the same number as Gordon.

Plus, the Nuggets would also probably have to figure out a way to make room on the roster for Giannis two brothers, too. Thanasis and Alex Antetokounmpo are both members of the Bucks, and it seems they're almost part of a package now.

However, when healthy, Giannis is about as good as they get, and opponents would have their hands full with the Giannis and Nikola Jokic duo.

It's not a good trade for the Nuggets

It's a good thing it's a hypothetical trade, because it's not a good trade for the Nuggets. Giannis is great, but it would leave the Nuggets with a defensive hole in Gordon's place, as Kuzma isn't what Gordon is on defense, nor offense, for that matter.

And then the Nuggets would have a hole at point guard, and no real way to fill the hole without finding a free agent. Plus, losing two more draft picks, which the Nuggets have few of in the upcoming years.

It certainly won't be the last trade idea we hear about, but it could be one of the last ones involving the Nuggets doing anything with Giannis and the Bucks. This trade would be too steep for the Nuggets, and the injury risk is about the same. But it is fun to hypothesize these trades.
