The Denver Nuggets are gearing up for summer in Sin City as they prepare to hit Las Vegas for the 2014 Samsung NBA Summer League July 11 through 21.

The Summer League tips off with three preliminary round games before the teams compete in a single elimination tournament that culminates with the championship game on July 21. Each team will play at least five games, and many of the games will be broadcast on NBA TV, NBA.com, and the NBA Summer League app. Games are held at the COX Pavilion and Thomas and Mack Center on UNLV’s campus.

While the Nuggets have yet to announce their Summer League roster for 2014, expect to see an interesting mix of players. Last year’s roster featured the likes of Evan Fournier, Quincy Miller, and Erick Green playing alongside undrafted rookies and several players with NBA experience looking to catch on with a team, such as Luke Harangody, Travis Releford, Chace Stanback, and Ben Uzoh. Both Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried played on Denver’s previous Summer League squads during their first couple of seasons in the NBA.

The Nuggets were one of six NBA Teams to play in the Summer League’s inaugural season back in 2004, when they joined the Wizards, Suns, Magic, Celtics, and Cavs.

Frankly, I can think of a lot worse ways to spend a couple of weeks than watching some of the young Nuggs run it back in Vegas. Anyone want to go halfsies on a flight/room package?
