Otto Porter Jr. is a dark horse good player in today’s league and the Nuggets could target him in free agency.

Otto Porter Jr. is a restricted free agent this summer. This means that the Washington Wizards can match any contract offer the versatile wing may receive from other teams.

However, with the way the young small forward played this year, he is going to receive some hefty offers. As a result, the Wizards may not be willing to grant Porter a max deal. One team that could make that a reality for him is the Denver Nuggets.

The Denver Nuggets have a ton of cap space to play with this free agency and that fact is no longer a secret. Plus, Gallinari may leave this summer which would leave them with a void on the wing. Insert Otto Porter Jr. He could mesh extremely well in the Nuggets’ system and develop a nice chemistry alongside Nikola Jokic.

Despite his lapse in defense at the end of the year, something tells me that a change in environment would re-ignite his defensive capabilities. While the Nuggets would most likely get in a bidding war for the small forward’s services, one cannot deny having Otto Porter Jr. on the Nuggets would create a very interesting dynamic in the Western Conference.

He along with Jokic, Murray and Harris would make the Nuggets a dangerous team in not just the West, but the entire league.
