Carmelo Anthony is a sensitive topic within Nuggets Nation, but with the way this off season has gone, it creates an argument on whether Denver should attempt to bring the superstar back and create a big three.
Carmelo Anthony is in a dire situation with the New York Knicks right now and the Denver Nuggets are on the come up. With this in mind, the possibility of a big three consisting of Nikola Jokic, Paul Millsap and Carmelo Anthony becomes very intriguing.
Before I go any further, I am going to preface what I am about to state with a couple of points. 1. This is NOT a verified rumor in any way, shape or form, just an idea. 2. I understand the chances of landing Melo are minuscule and I have actually written on why Denver bringing back Melo may not be beneficial, I am simply presenting the other side of the argument.

With the way the speculation is trending right now, it looks like Melo will end up in Houston, if he does in fact, waive his no trade clause. New York is ready to commit to a proper rebuild with Phil Jackson out of town and part of those plans may include shipping off Melo and his contract.
If the Nuggets were to perform a miracle and bring him back for a homecoming, one of the most high powered big threes would emerge. Denver would have even more offensive firepower with Jokic and Melo while Millsap would provide veteran leadership and help shore up the defense.
Plus, imagine how much fun Anthony would have playing alongside Jokic. Jokic is a pass first center while Melo’s specialty lays in scoring, so this would open up plenty of opportunities for the two to be effective. As if Denver’s offense wasn’t high scoring enough. Suddenly, Houston and Golden State would be given a run for their money in terms of offense.
Would this team be able to compete with the Warriors? Probably not.
