Our beloved Denver Nuggets’ mascot, Rocky, found himself in headlines this week. Unfortunately, it wasn’t for creatively trolling opponents. According to the Denver Post, Rocky made an “unsanctioned” appearance at the Colorado Republican Rally this past Monday. Graham Wincott, the Nuggets’ marketing manager, was quoted in the Post as saying, “As a sports team, we want to be apolitical. Two things we never touch on are politics and religion.”
Hopefully this was just a simple misunderstanding and Rocky and the marketing team are able to put this issue to rest quickly, as we are just a month away from trampoline dunks in the Pepsi Center.
