Dikembe Mutombo is an NBA legend and inspiration to the modern game. He IS the finger wag, one of the greatest things to take place in modern basketball. Now, Mutombo will be honored by the NBA on September 11, getting inducted into the Hall of Fame.

According to the Denver Post, Dikembe Mutombo will get his jersey retired by the Denver Nuggets not long after this.
"On Sept. 11, Mutombo will stand on stage at Springfield Symphony Hall to be enshrined into the Hall of Fame. As early as this season, expect Dikembe Mutombo’s number to be retired by the Nuggets as well. Mutombo’s constantly packed schedule would be the only real obstacle in getting it done."

So often Mutombo would come out of nowhere to block the shot at the last moment. Players often thought they had beaten him, before his long arms would somehow find the ball before it found the rim.
If Dikembe Mutombo doesn’t wave his finger at the jersey being taken up to the rafters, then it will be a missed opportunity. In all seriousness, Mutombo deserves all the honors he will receive and more.
