With Wilson Chandler and Jusuf Nurkic on the mend for at least the near future, all while Joffrey Lauvergne and Nikola Jokic struggle day-to-day with nagging injuries, the Denver Nuggets find themselves a little thin on the front line.
They made a move Wednesday to add some depth to the PF position by re-signing Kostas Papanikolaou, who was traded and then released as part of the Ty Lawson deal over the summer. Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news on Twitter.
Papanikolaou is a talented big man capable of spreading the floor with a good outside shot. He should add some value with both J.J. Hickson and Darrell Arthur struggling to shoot the ball. Having played on a successful Houston Rockets team, Kostas understands how fit into a system and support the starters.

Unfortunately, as part of the signing, the Nuggets had to waive guard Erick Green. Green beat out Nick Johnson for the final spot on the 15 man roster before the regular season began. He worked his tail off to make this roster and was a very nice fit for the Nuggets. While his journey ends for now, he could find his way back on this squad if the right circumstance presents itself.
