1. Ben Simmons, F, LSU, Fr./6’10”, 240 lbs.

The clear cut best prospect in this class, Ben Simmons has validated his pre-season hype so far at LSU. The star Freshman is averaging 20.3 points, 12.6 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.9 steals per game this season for the Tigers.

He’s been compared most often to LeBron James, but is more a mix of Blake Griffin and Magic Johnson to me. Simmons clearly can improve his shooting and defensive ability, but he is a rare talent and should be a no brainer selection for the team who’s lucky enough to get the number one overall pick.
