This was…a…unique game for the Nuggets. They started the game off really well on offense and actually played pretty well on that side of the ball for the most part, all five starters scored in double digits.
Nikola Jokic had another gem of a game with a whopping five steals and one that looked like a pitcher catching a line drive with cat like reflexes. The Nuggets as a team did have 24 assists and Emmanuel Mudiay looked a little more comfortable early in the game. It is nice to see him and Jokic really working into a rhythm that can hopefully work for the Nuggets for years to come.

Unfortunately, Monta Ellis had a stupid good game and was on fire all night. Ellis ended with 32 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals. Very good game for a dude who is known primarily as a chucker. Also, Jordan Hill had a really good game putting up an uncharacteristic block shot number with six, compared to the Nuggets team total of three.
The Nuggets turned the ball over way too much, again. It isn’t such a surprising thing for a young team, but it needs to improve. Also, Harris’ defense on Ellis was not good for most of the game. Harris is having a wonderful season, but man, Ellis really had his number.
Not only was the defense poor, but the three-point shooting was horrendous. The Nuggets shot 22 percent from the three and it is easy to say that even if they would have shot bad and made 30 percent they would have won that game.
This game was sloppy and relatively fun, but the Nuggets can take away that they played well in a hostile environment against a good team.
Also, that Jokic is going to be a stud. Get excited for him Nuggets fans.
