Denver Nuggets: Our Top 5 International Players of All Time
Danilo Gallinari- #3
The 2010-11 season was tough for Nuggets fans. That was the season Carmelo Anthony told management he wanted to go to New York. For fans of any team, the prospect of the future is always exciting. We’re optimists, all fans want to believe the next great era is just around the corner.
During that particular season though, the future of the Nuggets franchise was incredibly murky. No one knew what the roster would look like in 3 months. Whether Denver would be competing for home court advantage or scouting the lottery. Then, mercifully, the trade happened. The murkiness cleared that there stood Danilo Gallinari; the future.

Gallo led the team to the playoffs in both of his first two seasons in the Mile-High, including steering the team to its 57 win record setting season. Gallinari is a gifted scorer, a player that can create his own shot as well as come off screens to catch and shoot. He can put the ball on the floor himself, attack the rim, and over the course of his career in Denver, has hit some spectacular clutch shots.
He is gifted with incredible size and strength. Arguably his greatest asset though, is his personality and attitude. Gallinari has unbridled passion for the franchise and has accepted his leadership role fully. Danilo loves Denver, that much is clear any time he jumps on the TV or radio broadcast of games. He wants to see this franchise reach heights it has not yet seen. The lovable Italian is easy to root for. His time in Denver has been riddled with injury however, including having missed all of the 2014/15 season rehabbing his knee.
There has been a lot of speculation recently, but for now, Danilo remains a Nugget. Committed to winning. He holds career averages of 14.9ppg and 4.6rpg.
