Prediction: Who Will Earn the Last Two Nuggets’ Roster Spots?
By Evan Hosmer
Joffrey Lauvergne- C
King Joffrey had a pretty average season for the Nuggets last year. Lauvergne averaged roughly 8 points on 51% shooting along with 5 rebounds per game in his first full season with the Nuggets. Lauvergne showed off his very high basketball IQ when he was on the floor, as well as his physicality under the rim.
Joffrey can be labeled as a stretch 5 for the Nuggets. He can hit shots from almost anywhere inside the arc, and the occasional 3 point shot should he find himself uncontested. Joffrey also showed his ability to finish at the rim with either hand, making Joffrey a very versatile player on the offensive side of the court.

Lauvergne was also a very active defender, constantly contesting and challenging shots and getting over screens. Lauvergne lacks elite athleticism at the center position, but made up for it in part with his effort level.
Lauvergne has also benefited from playing with the French National Team over the past couple of years. Competing at the international level should help Joffrey continue to grow at the center position and help him make an impact for the Denver Nuggets. Lauvergne was recently selected for the French national team to compete in the 2016 summer Olympics, a big achievement for Joffrey.
With all that being said, Joffrey has played consistently enough for the Nuggets and for France to warrant a spot on the Nuggets final roster. Expect King Joffrey to be a role player this season for the Nuggets off the bench.
