#2: Chauncey Billups

Chauncey Billups, aka Mr. Big Shot, started his basketball journey as a star at hometown University of Colorado at Boulder. Billups spent his first six seasons in the NBA bouncing around numerous teams, including a brief stint with the Nuggets in the 1999-2000 season. He failed to make an impact in this one season and was traded to the Magic the following season

Billups career really took off when he signed with the Detroit Pistons in 2002. He spent 6 seasons with the Pistons, winning the 2004 NBA title and being named finals MVP. It was in 2008 that Billups would return to Denver after Detroit traded Billups to the Nuggets. Billups was really the first big time acquisition by the Nuggets to go along with their star Carmelo Anthony.

Alongside Carmelo Anthony, Billups led the Nuggets to their best ever performance in the Western Conference playoffs in his first season. The Nuggets matched their franchise record with a record of 54-28, giving the Nuggets the 2nd seed in the playoffs. The Nuggets made it all the way to the Western Conference finals that season with Billups at the helm, eventually losing to the Lakers in 6 games.

Billups finished sixth in the NBA MVP award voting in that first season, and selected to the All-NBA third team. He also set a franchise records in 3 pointers made in a playoff game with 8, and in a playoff series with 19.  Mr. Big Shot helped put the Nuggets back on the national radar during his time in Denver, making the playoffs in all three of his seasons with the Nuggets. Billups is a hometown hero and a member of the pro basketball hall of fame, solidifying his spot as one of the best Nuggets point guards of all time.
