During his six season in Denver from 1984 to 1990, Lever was one of the most outstanding players in Nuggets history. He filled up the stat sheet on a nightly basis, being a triple double machine at a time where athletic guards were prevalent in the Western Conference. Lever finished his career with 46 triple doubles, which puts him at sixth all time.
While in Denver, Lever led the Nuggets to a franchise record in wins in both the 1984-85 season and the 1987-88 season. He never failed to take the Nuggets to the postseason during his time as well, appearing in the playoffs for six straight seasons.
Lever accumulated numerous accolades during his time in Denver, being named to the All-NBA second team and making an appearance in the 1988 All star game. The numbers Lever put up were ahead of his time, averaging a ridiculous 18.9 ppg, 7.8 apg, 8.1 rpg, and 2.7 spg in the 1987-88 season. He even had a night where he neared a quadruple double, only failing to reach the mark in steals.
