#5 — Ralph Simpson

  • 5x ABA All-Star
  • 1X All-ABA

For most Nuggets fans, Ralph Simpson is not a household name, but he should be.

During the 1971-1972 season, Ralph Simson scored 27.4 points per game in 84 games. Compare that to last season in the NBA, and only Stephen Curry, James Harden, and Kevin Durant did that. Yes, it was a different time period, but no that does not completely diminish his incredible legacy.

He sits ninth-best in minutes and games played in Denver Nuggets/Rockets history. Along with that, he was ninth-best in points per game with 19.5 and fifth-best in points with 10,130.

All-in-all, Ralph Simpson seems to be a name that is forgotten among Denver culture, but what he did for Nuggets/Rockets should never go forgotten. For that reason, Simpson ranks in at #5 on our list.
