Jamal Murray- Overall 74

Jamal Murray is the latest #7 overall draft pick for the Denver Nuggets out of Kentucky. It is hard at times to speculate how rookies will be rated in the new 2K, but using Mudiay’s 2K16 rating as a benchmark allows for speculation.

Murray showed in college that he will be a lethal scorer in the NBA, using a smooth and efficient release to almost score at will. As a result, his standing shot mid and three will likely be his highest stats around 81-82 for each. Murray should also be effective going to the basket and have good driving layup stats with average inside scoring.

Murray, like most rookies, is a raw shooting talent but will need to develop as a combo guard. His overall will most likely be dragged down by pedestrian playmaking stats. Murray also will have fairly low physical stats and defensive stats due to the fact that defense was not his strong suit at Kentucky.

Murray will be a great player off the bench in 2K17 because he will be able to score very effectively from anywhere on the court, but don’t be surprised if he is a bit of a defensive liability.
