Horrendous Defense:

The Nuggets were letting the Lakers run on them. Russell was straight owning Mudiay in the first half and tallied 19 points in the first half of play. It was really only the Laker guards that gave the Nuggets trouble.

This was a problem as the Lakers made a run to be able to take a nine point lead into half.

The interior defense was also inexcusable when you consider the fact that talents like Jokic and Nurkic were guarding the paint, it makes no sense why a team should be giving up 57 first half points.

While many of them were from Russell on the inside, this team also had a hard time defending the pick-and-roll which is an issue that must be addressed before they rematch on Sunday.

Also, in conclusion, that last second three by Thomas was way too close for comfort.
