Denver Nuggets vs Washington Wizards: Is This a Must-Win for DEN?
By Curtis Edge
The Denver Nuggets take on the Washington Wizards tonight at the Verizon Center. The Nuggets (8-14) are a 5.5 point underdog against the Wizards (7-13).
The Nuggets are fresh off being demolished by the Brooklyn Nets last night. The entire Nets starting lineup got involved in the victory by scoring in double digit figures.
The Wizards are an easily beatable team, but so were the Nets and we saw how that went. The Nuggets can’t seem to put four solid quarters together this season.
The Nets have Brook Lopez, but the Wizards have John Wall. Wall scored 52 points against the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, but the Wizards still lost.

The Nuggets have a track record for letting stars of other teams going off of them, so John Wall could be a problem for the Nuggets. Gary Harris, one of the Nuggets’ best defenders, is still out with a foot injury. Other Nuggets defenders will have to step up and try not to make Wall’s life easy.
The Nuggets’ bigs will have to deal with Marcin Gortat and Markieff Morris down low. Gortat is leading the Wizards averaging 12.1 rebounds per game. Nikola Jokic, Jusuf Nurkic, and Kenneth Faried will have their hands full trying to box out their big guys.
The players, and even the fans, could use a win tonight to gain some confidence. There’s a long season ahead, but they don’t want to look back on games like these and wish they had won.
