Everyone seems to be making the case for the Denver Nuggets conducting a trade, but what about the case for not making a trade?

The Denver Nuggets have been the source of many trade rumors since last season. However, what if I were to tell you that the best course of action for them right now is to leave the team the way it is?

The Nuggets do have a ton of talent. Coach Malone needs to find the right rotations and be consistent with them. The Denver Nuggets are in a race for the final playoff spot right now, so it is safe to say that Denver could return to the post-season without conducting an identity changing trade.

Yes, many fans would love to see DeMarcus Cousins or Paul Millsap in a Denver uniform, but unfortunately that isn’t realistic right now. The Kings are going to do everything in their power to keep their one All-Star and it makes no sense to trade for Millsap when he will be hitting free agency this summer. We already learned our lesson with the Andre Igoudala situation.

If you are still not convinced, then keep in mind that Denver will have a ton of cap space this summer. While it is not guaranteed for the Nuggets to land a star, bear in mind it is difficult for many players to turn down massive amounts of money no matter what team is offering them the contract, (yes, I know it depends on the player since everyone is different, but you get the point.)

If I were Tim Connelly and the Nuggets, I would stay away from a big trade for now and see if this young core can sneak into the playoffs.

I know many fans are going to disagree with my assessment of this, but as of right now, why not see if this core actually needs a star or if they continue to progress on their own.
