Tim Connelly has done a good job of constructed the Nuggets from the ground up.

Tim Connelly has done a magnificent job in rebuilding the Denver Nuggets.

After two brutal seasons, the Nuggets now find themselves in a position to compete in the post-season this year. With having middle of the road draft picks to work with, he has orchestrated the correct strings for the youth of this Denver team.

He got a steal in Nikola Jokic who we have elaborated on a lot already and one could even make a case for Gary Harris being a steal.

Mudiay could still pan out although that debate is still raging on and Jamal Murray looks as if he can become a franchise changing guard. On top of that, Connelly has also managed some steals in trades. He traded Aaron Afflalo for Will Barton and Barton has done nothing but thrive since he arrived in the Mile High.

Yes, there have been some key mistakes,  but that is to be expected from a young NBA general manager. Let us not forget he finally got rid of Javale McGee’s ridiculous contract as well which opened up the door for the other front-court players.

What was also a success despite the fact they didn’t land him was getting the Nuggets involved in the Dwayne Wade talks last summer. The end result, Wade giving praise to Denver and admitting they have a bright future. Connelly was the first GM in many years to position this team to possibly land a star.

Connelly has done what many people deemed impossible and has put the Denver Nuggets in a competitive position in the Western Conference.

When you consider that the Nuggets have not had a top 3 draft pick in the past few years, it is amazing that the Nuggets are where they are as of right now.
