Murray played through a hernia injury the entire season, which shows how tough he is and can become.

Jamal Murray was one of the shining lights for the Denver Nuggets this season.

In his rookie year, Murray averaged 9.9 points per game on 40.5% shooting from the field. He also possessed a player efficiency rating of 12. On top of all of that, he even did great in the advanced analytic department averaging 51.9% true shooting percentage. He did all of this while averaging only 21.5 minutes per game. (All stats were verified via Basketball-reference.com).

However, Murray’s stats do not tell the whole story of his rookie campaign. When you watched this young man play, it was clear that his ceiling was sky high. He showcased a graceful jump shot that made Nuggets fans realize they could have their own version of Steph Curry on their hands. It doesn’t end there though.

It was recently revealed that Jamal played through a hernia for the entirety of the season. Now, if that does not show that he has a high pain threshold, I don’t what does then. It would have been easy for the rookie to sit out some games in order to heal, but instead, he showed his heart for the game by playing through this painful injury.

As a matter of fact, Jamal Murray was the only one that didn’t show signs of injury trouble out of all of the Nuggets. After this showing, it is clear that Murray has the potential to become not just one of the most electric players in the league, but also one of the toughest.

When one thinks of tough point guards, they normally think of a guy like Mike Conley of the Memphis Grizzlies. Here in the near future, they most likely will have to include Murray in that same category. With all of this in mind, let’s hope that he heals properly and can actually have some healthy seasons after this.
