At number two, the sophomore guard, Malik Beasley.

I know what you’re thinking, “He’s just going to say the three rookies from last season.” While I believe that Juancho will be good next season as well, that is not the case. I just really like what I see from these two guards.

Malik Beasley has done everything correctly, from what has been given to him. He got very limited playing time until the end of the season last year, and he was still a great bench presence. You don’t get your very own “Beasley Bench Cam” just by not playing much.

I’m not saying that Beasley will break out because of his bench presence. I am saying that he will break out because he is a great basketball player with a great work ethic. As he got limited playing time last year, he was sent to the D-League several times. Beasley made several appearances for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, and in one of them he had 32 points and 19 rebounds. Let me remind you that even though it’s not the NBA, he played professional basketball players there.

A good example of his play came in a game against the Golden State Warriors early in the season. It was a blow-out, so Coach Malone threw him in the game. Beasley did nothing to disappoint, as in only 14 minutes, he had 12 points, two boards and an assist. He had the second-most points on the team, trailing only Jamal Murray (14), and was the only Nuggets player with a positive plus-minus (per NBA.com)

He’s a freak athlete also, and he showed it with a great dunk on Lakers center Ivica Zubac as well.

By the way, that was not a typo on his name, as the Nuggets have given him the nickname Malik “Beastley.” Pretty awesome, right?
