Denver has seen a less than stellar fan base over the last couple of seasons.

While the Denver Nuggets are a young and up and coming team, their seems to be very few loyal fans of Mile High basketball anymore.

Just two seasons ago, they had the worst home attendance and this past year, it was not much better. This presents an interesting question.

How exactly does Denver re-vitalize their fan base? On the surface, it seems simple. Start winning more games. However, I think it goes deeper than that.

More from Nugg Love

I think that there aren’t many Nugget fans right now because there isn’t an electric personality that has emerged yet. Don’t get me wrong, Jokic is great, but it is kind of hard to actually hate the man. I am talking about that one player that Denver fans love but is hated by other fans.

Think about the most prevalent fan bases right now. Golden State has Draymond Green. The Thunder have Russell Westbrook. Chicago has Rajon Rondo. And Houston has James Harden. All of these guys have personalities and a style of play that are either loved or hated. The Nuggets need someone to emerge and embrace this type of leadership mentality.

Whether that be Harris, Murray or even someone like Chandler, the Nuggets need that type of personality on the team. Somewhat similar to the role Aqib Talib fills for the Denver Broncos if you really think of it.

If the Nuggets can find a personality like this, then the fans will eventually return and make the Pepsi Center loud again.
