The Denver Nuggets have made some questionable moves to say the very least.
The Denver Nuggets made some questionable decisions in the first round. It started when they selected Donovan Mitchell, a shooting guard, with their 13th pick despite their log jam at the guard positions.
This was then followed by a trade with the Utah Jazz. For who you ask? Could it be Hayward? You suddenly feel excited only to be deflated by the fact that Denver traded for the 24th pick which resulted in Tyler Lyndon and Trey Lyles.

Now, I know that Lyles does have some game. However, it is puzzling that Denver did not focus at all on the defensive side of the court in this round. They could could have selected O.G. Anunoby, but no, they seem to be wanting to be like the Houston Rockets where they just try to outscore their opponents.
Newsflash, that strategy does not work. Think about it. Houston was knocked out by San Antonio, a defensive oriented team. The NBA champion Golden State Warriors may be offensive juggernauts, but if you look at the stats, they were also very good defensively. Hopefully the front office has a method to all of this madness because so far, it has not made much sense what they have done.
All I will say is, there is a reason that the phrase “defense wins championships,” has existed for so long.
At the end of the day, there is still free agency and who knows, maybe Lyles and Lyndon will pan out to be solid players for the Nuggets.
