Denver Nuggets: Future assets that need to be held
By Blake Holmes
The first young prospect that is an “honorable mention” is Malik Beasley.
Now what I mean by the “honorable mention” is that if the Nuggets can hold onto them, they should. However, if a great deal comes along and they have to throw them in to get a star, so be it. The first of this type of player is Malik Beasley, a player who I have been a fan of ever since he came to the Mile High City.
He didn’t get too many minutes in his rookie season, but in the minutes that he got he proved he can play. Malik has a great work ethic, a good physical aspect to the game, and could be a good player in the future. whole lot from him, but he really proved me and a lot of others wrong with his shooting. Who would have thought that he would have the sweetest stroke on the team by the end of the season from three?
I mean, the stats say it all, he shot over 40 percent from three last season (per basketball-reference). Hernangomez could come in and be a dark-horse starter next season, and the Nuggets should hang onto him.
In a game against the champion Golden State Warriors, Juancho had six threes and thirty points. These were good enough to lead both teams in these stats for the game. If he can do this consistently, he could be fun to watch in the future.
