The Nuggets won’t get a chance to woo Chris Paul, but it may have worked out for them in the long run contrary to popular belief.
With the breaking news of Chris Paul being traded to the Houston Rockets, Nuggets fans are a little disappointed that they won’t get a shot at the super star point guard.
However, this may actually be a blessing in disguise. While I will admit, I would have loved to have landed Paul, it would have been a short term fix. Paul will be out of his prime within the next three to four years which would have left Denver overpaying a point guard with his best years behind him.

Plus, with how well Jamal Murray has developed, do not be surprised if he is utilized more at the point guard spot this coming season, not to mention Monte Morris could surprise some fans as well.
Long term, this is better for the Nuggets because it does not hinder the development of the young guards and gives Denver a chance to be great for longer in the distant future.
There is no telling exactly how good guys like Murray, Morris or even Mudiay will become, but we will at least know now that Denver will not pull the trigger on a star point guard who only has three to four good years left in the tank.
From a development standpoint, it is good Denver did not land Chris Paul.
