Denver still has yet to make a key move and the free agent market continues to get thinner and thinner as we speak.

The moratorium period for free agency has not even began, but Denver still finds themselves behind the curb.

After a less than stellar draft, the free agency period will be extremely vital to this team. With teams in the Western Conference getting better, the Nuggets have not really gotten better.

More from Nugg Love

We saw Butler get traded to Minnesota, almost every team in the division improve, CP3 get traded to Houston, Blake Griffin now is apparently out until December thanks to a random toe injury that popped out of nowhere and the Hawks are rumored to be interested in a sign and trade with Paul Millsap.

Meanwhile, the most noteworthy move we have seen the Nuggets do so far is trade for Trey Lyles. I’m not meaning to cast any aspersions on Trey, but I mean, has the team not looked at the other moves going on around them? Lyles is not going to be the catalyst to get Denver back into the playoffs.

Connelly has been aggressive so far in trying to get a star in the Mile High, however he must continue that aggression before it is too late. Even though free agency has not technically began, Connelly could still get on the phone and work out a trade or two. He needs to at least do something to keep the pace.

Otherwise, the Nuggets will be left with scraps from this summer’s free agency class.
