Nuggets Rumors: Teams calling Denver about Kenneth Faried trades
By Tom West
With the Denver Nuggets’ acquisition of Paul Millsap, teams around the NBA have started calling Denver about trades for Kenneth Faried.
Kenneth Faried has been involved in countless trade rumors before. It’s almost a surprise that he’s still on the Denver Nuggets after appearing in trade talks so much and seeing his minutes decrease over each of the last three seasons. And after Denver acquired Paul Millsap in NBA free agency this summer, Faried was understandably one of the team’s many power forwards that they would consider trading to clear up the rotation and create more cap space.
Now, it seems teams around the league haven’t waited long to start asking about trades.
Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype has mentioned that teams are calling the Nuggets about Faried. And no reporting is needed to know that it’ll be no surprise if he’s dealt.
The Nuggets have too many power forwards. Hot analysis there, I know. From Millsap to the bottom of the roster, to recent acquisition Trey Lyles, to all the forwards like Juancho Hernangomez and Wilson Chandler who can play at the four, the Nuggets need to clear space.

Despite all he’s done in Denver and all the rebounds he’s grabbed, The Manimal’s time with the Nuggets is probably going to be up soon. It’s been rumored in the past, but the arrival of Millsap only adds more urgency to it this time now that Faried’s $12.92 million salary for 2017-18 could be better used elsewhere.
Last season, Faried had career-lows in minutes (21.2), points (9.6), rebounds (7.6), blocks (0.7). He still had a 20.3 PER because he grabs rebounds in a hurry and can stuff the stat sheet with strong averages of 16.3 points and 12.8 rebounds per 36 minutes, but there just isn’t much of a place for him in Denver now.

Faried can still have value to teams, though. He won’t do too much and can be a real energy guy off the bench with his impressive rebounding and floor running. His contract is rather high for what he has to offer, but he could contribute to a number of organizations and you can follow us here at Nugg Love for updates on potential destinations.
