The Denver Nuggets are about to begin Las Vegas Summer League, and you can expect Malik Beasley to show signs of improvement.

The Denver Nuggets will play their first Las Vegas Summer League game against the Houston Rockets on Friday night at 10:00 PM ET, and one player to watch out for is Malik Beasley.

The kid is a young talent brimming with potential. He barely got any playing time last year, only appearing in 22 games with an average of 7.5 minutes a night for the Nuggets, and was sent to the D League a couple of times. On all of those occasions in the G League, though, he showed out and had an outstanding performance.

Due to this, one should expect him to have a great Summer League performance, that and the fact that he’s had more time this offseason to work on his game and he’ll be older with a touch more experience than the rookies and players hoping to make the league. Players in this more well-versed position often try to assert themselves as the real NBA talent, so long as they have the right competitive mindset.

Beasley is entering his second year and will be looking to make a name for himself in his sophomore season. Am I predicting he will be the MVP of the Summer League this year? No. But he is someone that opponents need to be wary of and gameplan for before playing Denver. He plays with confidence and should be ready to progress. Beasley is due for a breakout performance in this upcoming game against Houston and do not be surprised if he shines throughout the entire Summer League tournament.
