The Denver Nuggets’ newest star, Paul Millsap, is already confident in the young core that the team has constructed.

It has not taken long for Paul Millsap to fall in love with the team the Denver Nuggets have put in place.

Right after the press conference where he was introduced to the Nuggets organization the other day, Millsap was interviewed by Christopher Dempsey where he stated something very surprising.

During the interview, Millsap made it clear that he believes the Nuggets have the potential to be better than the 60 win Atlanta Hawks team he was a key component of a couple years ago. Denver Stiffs was able to get the entire quote.

"“Especially with the younger guys that we have now in Denver, the growth is unbelievable. The sky is the limit. I think this team can be a lot better than that team. That was a 60 win team, so you know. I’m coming in this thing with high hopes, knowing and understanding what the situation is and knowing that we can be that team.”"

This is a great sign not just coming form Millsap himself, but for the entire team. The personnel already has the veteran star buying into what they have built so far and wants to help catapult them to the next level.

This goes to show the Nuggets’ fans are not just blowing hot air when they rant and rave about the growth and development of this young core. Even others in the league are taking notice of what is brewing in the Mile High.

We all already know that the Nuggets will showcase a new, elite and exciting front court for the NBA to watch next season consisting of Millsap and Nikola Jokic. These two will be the go to options for Denver. However, Paul also understands the importance of guys like Gary Harris, Jamal Murray and Juancho Hernangomez.

With this core, it is great to see that Millsap thinks their potential could surpass his former Atlanta squad.
