8. New Orleans Pelicans

You have no idea how much I argued with myself over this spot. Pelicans or Clippers? In the end I have to say the Pelicans. As much as I think the Clips could squeeze in and get a playoff spot, I’ll take the front-court of DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis.

New Orleans Pelicans Starting Lineup:

PG: Rajon Rondo

SG: Jrue Holiday

SF: Solomon Hill

PF: Anthony Davis

C: DeMarcus Cousins

Do I think that the Pelicans are very deep? No, but I can tell you something that they do have, and it’s a pretty good starting lineup. That alone can be good enough to get you the eight seed. They aren’t very deep, but I believe they can finish just good enough to claim the eighth slot.

The Pelicans re-signed Jrue Holiday, while also signing Rajon Rondo to come to the “Big Easy.” I do believe that they do not start both of them, but I think it only makes their starting lineup better by putting Holiday at the two.

They should be an offensive force, as they have a few seriously talented players, but their defense could be better, too. I do want to state again that this is a spot that I could see the Clippers getting their hands on as well.
