The Nuggets announced on Tuesday that they are teaming up with Western Union this upcoming season and that the team will feature the company’s logo on their uniforms next season.
"As part of the three-year sponsorship, Western Union will be the first jersey patch sponsor for the Nuggets, with the Western Union logo adorning the jerseys of all players beginning in the 2017-2018 NBA Season. Last April, the NBA approved the sale of jersey sponsorships as part of a pilot program. The Nuggets become the 11th team to secure a jersey sponsor. Western Union will also be a co-presenting sponsor of the team’s 50th anniversary celebration."
We weren’t sure if the Nuggets were going to have a sponsor on their jerseys this season because it hadn’t been announced yet, but now we know. Denver will in fact be the 11th team in the NBA to have a sponsor on their jerseys and it’ll certainly be different to see. The jersey sponsorship should hopefully help the Denver franchise finally get their own G-League affiliation, but it hasn’t came out yet what the money will be used for. The team is holding a press conference at 10:30 a.m. today to officially announce the sponsorship and hopefully show off the teams new uniforms.
The Nuggets did a bit of a teaser this morning on their twitter page giving Nuggets nation a first look at the teams new uniforms.

It looks like the uniforms are going to have a more navy vibe and that the team could be going away from the baby blue look. This is just one of the new jerseys though so the other three could possibly still have baby blue.
We’ll keep this story updated when more information becomes available on the Nuggets new uniforms for next season.
UPDATE:
During the presser they released an image of a Denver jersey with the Western Union patch on it.
This is in fact NOT the new jersey for next season though. They announced that there will be another presser exactly one week from today where they will reveal the new Nike uniforms. Although weird that they didn’t do both announcements today, splitting them up gives both corporations there own spotlight.
Next: A case for every point guard
Lets hope they have a big and awesome new jersey reveal exactly one week from today.
