Emmanuel Mudiay showcased his potential in the Team Africa vs. Team World game.

Emmanuel Mudiay had a great game for Team Africa despite them losing to Team World. He was very close to getting a triple double and showed how much potential he possesses.

Victor Oladipo was the game’s MVP, but Mudiay was also a great force for Team Africa. He also showed why many Nuggets fans have not given up on him quite yet along with the Denver Nugget organizations.

Mudiay put up an impressive 22 points to go along with eight rebounds and nine assists. The 22 points is great, but the welcome sign is the nine assists. This is exactly what a franchise wants to see from a young point guard even if it is only an exhibition game. Mudiay was also very efficient shooting 50% from the field and had three steals to go along with his already impressive stat line.

The Nuggets point guard participated in this particular due to the fact he actually spent five years of his life in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He was also born in Africa and it had been a long 16 years since he had visited the continent of Africa.

His team may not have won, but it certainly was not his fault. Especially when you look at the roster Team World possessed. They had a star powered roster led by the likes of C.J. McCollum, Kristaps Porzingis, Dirk Nowitski and Kemba Walker.

Denver should feel happy after seeing a performance like this from the young Emmanuel Mudiay and perhaps give him one more shot this coming season before thrusting his name back into trade rumors.

It could have also been a fluke, but then again, it never hurts to think positively. We will see if he carries this momentum into the coming season.
