Denver Nuggets guard Gary Harris has consistently improved every season of his career so far, and that should lead to a high rating in NBA 2K18.
Gary Harris is good and he’s only getting better. He’s improved every season so far and that was no different in 2016-17 as he recorded career-highs of 14.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game to go along with outstanding shooting percentages of 50.2 from the field and 42 from three-point range. He’s an important and impressive part of the Denver Nuggets’ growing young core, and that should be reflected in his rating in NBA 2k18.
It’s that time of year when the offseason has died down after free agency madness and an initial wave of Kyrie Irving trade rumors, leaving us with little entertainment in the world of basketball. The new 2K game and the release of a few player ratings, not to mention the speculation of what others will be rated, is always a good way to help pass the time.
Harris finished the 2K17 season with a rating of 80, which could well increase for the new game. I’d suggest that he should receive a slight ratings boost to 82, although how much the folks at 2K recognize the skill and overall impact of a low-profile guy like Harris is yet to be seen.

While Harris may not be much of an isolation threat or a flashy ball handler, he has a skill set that is so important for all wings in the league today: solid (and hopefully improving) perimeter defense, a stellar three-point shot and excellent off-ball movement.
It’s Harris’ movement without the ball that helped take his game to another level last season. Of course, playing off the passing of Nikola Jokic is a big help, but Harris is a top cutter and has honed his ability to find space around the arc and shoot well when coming off screens. He’s become highly efficient as a result, and when you take note of his improved ability to attack closeouts and drive to the basket with emphasis at times as well, he’s quite the offensive player already for a developing 22-year-old.

Harris has an obvious chance to improve even more next season and take more steps forward as the season goes on, also benefiting from the tutelage of an elite defender thanks to the arrival of his new All-Star teammate Paul Millsap. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Harris’ NBA 2K18 rating creep up as the 2017-18 season progresses.
